How We Gather Data
We are a data aggregation platform, not a testing laboratory. To ensure accuracy, we compile information from three primary pillars:

- International Health Advisories: We cross-reference data with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and WHO (World Health Organization) travel advisories.
- Community Feedback: We monitor traveler reports regarding taste, smell, and infrastructure conditions in older buildings.
Why We Recommend Gear
Even when water is technically "safe" (bacteria-free), it may still taste heavily of chlorine or contain mineral sediment from old pipes. We research and recommend specific gear—from simple carbon filter bottles for "Safe but Bad Tasting" cities, to military-grade purifiers for "Unsafe" destinations. Our recommendations are unbiased and based on the specific water profile of the destination.

Messages you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive the name, email address, topic and message you provide. We use that information to respond and manage related correspondence. Cloudflare and our email provider process information needed to handle and deliver the message. Please avoid sending sensitive health information. Contact correspondence remains in our email records while needed for these purposes; you can ask us to delete it, subject to any applicable record-keeping obligations.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand page visits and how the website is used. It can use first-party cookies and receive technical and browser information. Our page-view events use public page paths and do not include the contents of contact messages or submitted email addresses. Google’s advertising features are disabled in our Analytics configuration.
